As a sophomore,
Evan came into the season with jr. high running experience under his belt.
Sidelined his freshman year, Evan stepped right in after a year off
to show he is a good runner. His early workouts showed his determination
and work ethic. I look for good things in the next three years from
Evan. In Evan's season opener he ran a solid first run with a time of
22:11. Evan had a major break through at the Charleston Inviational
where he cut off nearly 2 minutes from his personal best and ran a 20:20.
Evan ran a personal best at the Peoria Notre Dame Invitational by running
a 20:11. He made his way into our team's top
ten fastest sophomore ever list at the East Peoria Invitational, Olympia
Invitational, U-High Invitational,
and Metamora Invitational. Evan earned a medal
at the Olympia Invitational by placing 27th wih a personal best time of 19:00.
Evan came back with another personal best in the ran at the U-High
Invitational where he placed 9th in the open race. Evan ran a solid time
at the Metamora Invitational of 19:16. Evan ran a personal best at
conference with a 18:50 even though it was a long course. Evan was
a first year letter winner as a sophomore. As a junior, Evan came into the season more determined than ever. He went from the back of the back during his first season to the top group on our team. He earned a spot on our team's top 10 junior list at our 1st home meet of the year, the Charleston Invitational, the East Peoria Invitational, and the Metamora Invitational. He earned a medal at the Charleston Invitational open race where he was runner up with a time of 18:29. He earned his way onto the News-Gazette Prep Cross Country Leaders List in September and October. He earned his way onto our most improved over a career list with an improvement of 4:06. He ran a personal best in his final race at conference with a time of 18:05. He earned his way onto our teams Regional roster. |
