Zach Rausch - Senior

Zach is a second year high school cross country runner and returning letterman. Son of Kent and Tina Rausch.
As a sophomore, Zach instantly came out and quickly adjusted to the training.  He has a great amount of talent and should be one of the leaders of the fresh/soph team right away. Zach earned a medal at the Charleston Invitational by placing 11th in the open race.  He was our fastest runner in the open race at the Springfield Invitational.  He medaled at the Eureka Fresh/Sopn Invitational.  He earned a medal in the fresh/soph race at the Olympia Invitational by placing 16th.  He earned a medal at the Mahomet-Seymour invitational by placing 3rd in the open.  Zach worked his way onto the News-Gazette Prep Cross Country Leader list in September and October.  He earned a spot in our all time sophomore list at the Springfield Invitational, Eureka Fresh/Soph Invitational, & Peoria Notre Dame Invitational, East Peoria Invitational, Olympia Fresh/Soph Invitational, U-High Invitational, & Mahomet-Seymour Invitational.  Zach ran a personal best at the Mahomet-Seymour Invitational with a time of 18:00.  He had the fastest sophomore time this year.
As a junior, Zach started the season with more intensity and experience.  His spring track helped his confidence in his ability drastically improve.  Zach is running early time trials faster than he would have run them in his prime last season.  Zach appears to be a threat to be in the top ten area XC athletes this year.  In Zach's season opener he was only 18 seconds behind his lifetime personal best and placed 5th for our team.  Zach ran a PR at the Pontiac quad  and placed 7th overall.  Zach made his way into our team's top fastest junior ever list at the Springfield Invitational, the East Peoria Invitational, Olympia Invitational, U-High Invitational and Metamora Invitational.  Zach
worked his way onto the News-Gazette Prep Cross Country Leader list in September.  Zach ran a 17:03 at the Prairie Central meet.  Zach medaled at the Olympia Invitational by placing 2nd.  He ran in the 17s at the Metamora Invitational.  Zach ran in the 17's again at conference running 8th for our team.  He improved 57 seconds from his sophomore year.
As a Senior, Zach was one of our greatest team spirit teammates of recent history.  He is highly regarded and respected by his coaches and teammates for making cross country fun and his passion for the team.  Zach started the season by earning his way onto our top 10 fastest times in our first home meet, the Springfield Invitational, the East Peoria Invitational, and the Metamora Invitational.
Zach worked his way onto the News-Gazette Prep Cross Country Leader list in September and October.  He finished his senior year by winning the team spirit award.
