   As a freshman, William came into the season with junior high running experience.  William also dedicated himself to running 300 miles in the summer before his freshman year.  William earned a medal in the Springfield Invitational by placing 12th in the freshman race with a personal best 2 mile time of 11:49.  William earned his varsity letter as a freshman.  William ran a lifetime best at the Peoria Notre Dame invitational with a 18:29.  William made his way onto the News-Gazette prep cross country leaders in September and October.  William won our team's fastest freshman award for the 2011 season.
   As a sophomore, William ran over 400 miles in the summer.  He joined our team's 400 mile club by running over 6 miles a day in the summer.  William ran a lifetime best in his first meet of the season with a 17:19 at the Charleston Invitational.  His time was strong enough to place him 2nd in the open race and earned him his first medal of the year.  He earned his way onto our fastest Charleston Invite times for sophomores at 8th place.  He also earned his way onto the highest places at the Charleston Invite with a 2nd place finish.  His place helped his team earn a perfect score in the open race at this invitational.
William made his way onto the News-Gazette prep cross country leaders in September.  William came back strong in his 2nd race at the Springfield Invitational.  He placed 3rd in the open race and earned a medal.  He led his team to a 1st place open finish.  His place was the highest we have ever had a MS runner finish in the open race.  His time was fast enough to earn him a spot on our team's fastest sophomore times list for the Springfield Invite.  William earned enough letter points after his 2nd race to earn his 2nd XC varsity letter.  William earned a spot on our team's scholar/athlete list due to his excellent grades.  William had a major breakthrough at the Peoria Notre Dame Invitational.  He broke into the 16's for the first time with a 16:35.  He earned a high spot on our team's fastest sophomore list at the Peoria Notre Dame Invitational.  He also earned a spot on the 16's list.  William broke into the 16's again at the East Peoria Invitational with a 16:46.  This earned him a spot on our fastest sophomore times for the East Peoria Invitational.  He ran 7th for our team at the East Peoria Invitational and helped his team win the team championship.  William earned a spot on our team's old dog club by breaking 5 minutes in the mile.  William made his way onto the News Gazette Prep Cross Country Leaders List in October.  William ran a lifetime best at the Metamora Invitational with a 16:12.  This was the 6th fastest time on the team.  He also was the 2nd fastest sophomore time that any MS runner has run at this invitational.  William earned a spot on our team's top 12 runner State roster.  William earned the most improved FS award his sophomore year. 
   As a junior, William really stepped it up.  He had a strong track season and carried that over to his summer running.  He ran over 700 miles to join our 700 mile club.  He just barely missed our 1000 mile York club.  He earned the title of team captain.  William's increased confidence and endurance helped him be part of the top group in the early season workouts.  He also has become quite the team leader by making an effort to vocally help his younger teammates out.  William opened up his junior year with a big run.  He ran 3rd for his team and helped them win the Charleston Invitational.  He placed 9th in the Invitational and earned a medal.  He ran a lifetime personal best 3 mile time of 16:20.  It was fast enough to place him 6th on our fastest top 15 junior times list for the Charleston Invitational.  He improved 59 seconds from his last year's time at the Charleston Invitational.  William had a lifetime best at the Springfield Invitational.  He ran 3rd for our team and helped lead them to the team championship.  He placed 7th overall which is one of the highest places we have ever had.  His time of 16:00 earned his Il elite status by dyestatil.com.  His time was the 5th fastest junior time we have ever had and 7th fastest time by any class.  He earned his 3rd varsity cross country letter early in the season.  He made the News-Gazette's prep cross country leaders list in September.  William had a 25 second improvement at the Peoria Notre Dame Invitational. He broke into the 15s for the first time of his time and jumped to a 15:35.  His time earned him the 4th fastest Mahomet junior time of all-time at this invite.  He earned IL elite status by dyestatil.com for his performance at this meet.  He helped his team run the fastest top 5 average, fastest  top 7 average, and highest overall team place at this invite by any Mahomet team.  William ran in the 15s again at the East Peoria Invitational with a 15:57.  His time was fast enough to earn him a medal and the 7th fastest Mahomet junior time ever at this invite.  William's time was also fast enough to earn him IL elite status for the East Peoria Invitational.  William helped his team win the invitational for the 3rd year in a row.  William has helped lead his team to a #2 State ranking for two weeks in a row.  His East Peoria time was a 49 second improvement from his 2012 time at that invite.  William
made his way onto the News-Gazette's prep cross country leaders list in October.  William ran a very strong race at the Metamora Invitational.  He ran a 15:19 which is the 9th fastest junior time of any Mahomet runner in the 44 year history of our program.  William placed 8th which is the 7th highest finish of any Mahomet runner at this invitational.  William's time is the 3rd fastest ever run by a junior at the Metamora Invitational.  He earned a medal and helped his team win the invitational.  William also helped his team run the fastest top 5 and top 7 average of a Mahomet team at this invitational.  William helped his team win the conference championship for the first time in 28 years.  William earned all-conference honors by placing 5th.  He earned his 5th medal of the year.  He helped his team earn a 2nd place ranking in State for the 4th week in a row.  William earned the bulldog standout of the week by MahometDaily.com on October 24, 2013.  William ran a solid race at the Regional meet.  He placed 4th with a smooth run.  He earned a medal and All-Regional status for placing in the top 5.  He helped his team win the Regional title.  William also helped his team run the fastest top 7 runner average of any Mahomet team in the 44 year history of our program.  William earned IL elite status for his performance at the Regional race.  William ran a solid race at the Sectional meet where he placed 13th.  He ran a 15:49.  William helped his team win the Sectional title and he became a State Qualifier.  William helped his team become ranked 2nd in State for the 6th week in a row.  William also earned a spot on the News Gazette Prep Cross Country Leaders List in November.  William earned IL elite status by dyestatil.com for his performance at the Sectional meet.  William earned the honor of the News Gazette Athlete of the Week Honorable Mention for November 6, 2013.  William ran 3rd for his team at the State meet.  He placed 113th with a 16:16.  He earned the 10th spot on our fastest junior time on our team's fastest times at State list.
   As a senior, William enters the season after being a State qualifier in track in the 2 mile.  William ran one of the fastest times in the history of Mahomet in the 2 mile.  William opened up his season in the 15's with a time of 15:55 at the Charleston Invitational.  He placed earned him a medal and his time earned him Illinois Elite status by dyestat.  He helped his team run the fastest top 5 and top 7 runner average at this meet.  He helped his team earn the lowest team score at this invite with 22 points.  William ran the 2nd fastest senior time Mahomet has run at this invite.  He earned a spot on our fastest top times list for this invitational. William
made his way onto the News Gazette Prep Cross Country Leaders List in September.  William ran a season best at the Springfield Invitational with a 15:52.  This was the 2nd fastest senior time we have ever had on this course.  William placed 5th earning a medal for the 4th year in a row.  He helped his team run the fastest top 5 runner average, the fastest top 7 runner average, and the lowest team score for the Springfield Invitational.  William was one of only 10 Mahomet runners ever to break 16:00 on that challenging course.  William earned Illinois elite status by dyestat for his Springfield performance.  He earned enough letter points after his Springfield race to earn his varsity letter for the 4th year.  Very few seniors have ever won the honor of being a 4 year letter winner.  William earned a spot into the 2014 Old Dog club by breaking 5 minutes in the mile.  William had a 16 second season personal best improvement at the Peoria Notre Dame Invitational.  William ran a 15:35 to tie his lifetime personal best.  He earned a medal at this extremely tough race by placing 47th.  He helped his team run our team's fastest top 5 runner and top 7 runner average.  He earned Illinois Elite status by dyestat.com for his PND performance.  He earned a spot on our team's fastest top senior times list at the PND invite.  William helped his team place 2nd in the invitational beating out 19 State ranked teams and 3 nationally ranked teams.  He helped make our team earn the 45th nationally ranked team spot for the week.  William ran a season best at the East Peoria Invitational with a 15:30.  He helped his team win the East Peoria Invitational for the 4th year in a row.  He helped his team run the fastest top 5 runner average and lowest team score we have had at this invitational.  William earned a medal by placing 5th.  He ran the 4th fastest senior time we have had at this invite.  William improved 5 seconds for the season and 27 seconds from his time one year ago at the East Peoria Invite.  He earned Illinois Elite status for his East Peoria performance.  William helped his team earn a national ranking of 36th for the week.  William earned our team's scholar/athlete award for his strong academic success.  William made his way onto the News Gazette Prep Cross Country Leaders List in October.  William had an amazing race at the Metamora Invitational.  He beat many runners predicted to beat him and placed 3rd overall.  This earned him a medal.  His time was his season and lifetime best of 15:02.  It was a 28 second improvement on his season best.  It was a 17 second improvement from his time just one year earlier at the Metamora Invite.  He hepled his team win the invitational for the 3rd year in a row.  He helped his team run the fastest top 5 and top 7 runner average time that we have had at the Metamora Invite.  He earned the 2nd fastest time on our team's fastest senior times list for this invite.  He helped his team get the State ranknig of 2nd and National ranking of 35th the week after the Metamora Invite.  William earned All-Conference honors for a second time when he placed 3rd in the Conference meet.  He helped his team win the Conference meet for the second time in 29 years.  He ran a lifetime 3 mile best with a time of 15:22.  His time was the 3rd fastest Mahomet time a senior has ever run at the Conference meet in 45 years.   He improved 47 seconds from his 2013 Conference time.  He helped our team run the fastest top 5 and top 7 runner average we have had in 45 years.  He helped us score the lowest points a Mahomet team has earned in the Conference meet with a low score of 21.  He earned US top 100 status by dyestat.com for his performance.  William had the race of his life at the Regional meet.  He broke down many of the toughest runners in the State to place 2nd only 3 seconds behind the leader.  William ran a lifetime 3 mile best by 14 seconds which is a major improvement for this time of the year.  William's runner up finish earned him All-Regional status and a medal.  He helped his team win the Regional.  He helped his team run the fastest top 5 runner average and fastest top 7 runner average any Mahomet team has ever had at the Regional meet.  He ran the 2nd fastest Mahomet senior time ever run at a Regional meet andd the 4 fastest time ever by any Mahomet runner at a Regional meet in 45 years showing his dominance in the history of our program.  He joined our team's most improved over a career list by improving more than 3 minutes in his career.  He improved 3 minutes and 21 seconds from his first high school 3 mile race to his best race.   This earned him the 41st spot.  William improved 43 seconds from his 2013 Regional time.  William earned US top 100 status by dyestat for his Regional time.  William earned our team's fastest senior award for his senior year.  William had a solid race at the Sectional meet.  He placed 4th which earned him a medal and All-Sectional status.  He became one of the few elite in our school history to be an All-Sectional runner.  He ran a 15:12 which earned him the 3rd fastest time we have had by a senior at the Sectional meet in 45 years.  He earned US top 100 status by dyestat.com for his Sectional performance.  He also helped his team win the meet and getting his team to qualify for State.  William became a two time State quaifier.  He helped his team run the fastest top 5 runner and top 7 runner average by any Mahomet team at the Sectional meet.  He helped his team earn a #32 National ranking this week.  William earned our team's fastest senior award for his senior year.  William made his way onto the News Gazette Prep Cross Country Leaders List in November.  William had the race of his life with a time of 15:01 at State.  This was the third fastest senior Mahomet has had at State.  William placed 18th which earned him a medal and All-State status.  William helped his team win the runner-up trophy.  William improved 7 seconds which moved him up to #38 moved improved over a career list with a 3 minute and 18 second improvement.  William helped his team run the fastest top 5 and top 7 team average.  William got selected as the Mahomet Citizen Athlete of the week for November 20, 2014.
