As a Freshman, Kyle entered our program with junior high running experience.  Kyle took his summer seriously and ran 300 miles in the summer before his freshman year.  Kyle joined our team's 300 mile club.  Kyle's work ethic in the summer really showed in early practices as he was able to run some of the harder workouts that over half our team couldn't handle.  Coming off a week with an injury Kyle decided to gut out his race at the Springfield Invitational freshman race.  He ran a 12:20 for a 28 second improvement from his previous lifetime best effort.  Kyle placed 13th in the race and earned his first high school cross country medal.  Kyle ran 5th for his team and helped them win the Springfield Invitational freshman race team title.  Kyle finished his first high school cross country 3 mile race with a solid time of 19:09.  He earned enough letter points after the Peoria Notre Dame Invitational to earn his first high school cross country varsity letter.  Kyle ran a strong race at the East Peoria Invitational. He ran right at his best for the season with a 19:22.  Kyle runs with such determination in his races.  Kyle had an amazing breakthrough at the Metamora Invitational where he improved 1 minute and 8 seconds from his lifetime best.  He just missed breaking into the 17s with a time of 18:01.  His time was fast enough to earn him a spot on our team's fastest freshman times list for the Metamora Invitational.  Kyle's hard work in practice really is paying off.  Kyle ran a lifetime 3 mile best in his final race at the Conference meet.  Kyle ran a 18:41 which was a 29 second improvement from his previous best.  Kyle earned himself a spot on the News Gazette Cross Country Leaders List in October.
As a sophomore, Kyle ran over 600 miles in the summer.  He earned a spot on our team's 600 mile club.  His summer miles paid off as his times drastically improved.  Kyle's work paid off as he ran a 39 second lifetime 3 mile personal best in his first meet out.  He ran an 18:02 at the Charleston Invitational.  Last season he only made his way onto our top times list for 1 inviational.  He broke onto the list his first meet out as a sophomore.  He earned the 21st spot on our team's fastest sophomore times list for the Charleston Invitational.
He earned himself a spot on the News-Gazette Prep Cross Country Leaders list in September.  Kyle had another lifetime best at the Springfield Invitational.  He improved another 27 seconds to run a 17:35.  He ran the 27th fastest sophomore time we have ever had at this invite showing drastic improvement from last year.  He earned a medal by placing 14th in the open race.  He ran 5th for his team and helped them earn the runner-up team position.  He earned enough letter points after his second race to earn his second cross country varsity letter.  Kyle had a 33 second improvement at the Peoria Notre Dame invitational.  His new lifetime best was a 17:02.  He ran over 2 minutes faster than he did last year at this invitational.  He helped his team place 10th out of 50 teams in the fresh/soph race.  He earned a spot on our team's fastest top sophomore times list for his great race at the PND invite.  Kyle helped his team win the fresh/soph race at the East Peoria Invitational.  He just missed earning a medal by 1 place.  He placed 16th running 6th for his team.  Kyle improved 1 minute and 26 seconds from last year at this invite which was more than anyone else on our team.  Kyle earned a spot on our teams fastest top sophomore times list for the EP Invite.  He earned himself a spot on the News-Gazette Prep Cross Country Leaders list in October.  Kyle tied his season best time at the Metamora Invitational.  He ran a 17:02.  This was a 59 second improvement from his time last year at this race.  Kyle earned the 18th spot on our team's fastest top sophomore list for the Metamora Invitational.  Kyle came up with a late season injury.  Despite being very injury he mustered up enough will power to race the Conference meet where he ran a 18:57.  This was quite an impressive time considering the amount of discomfort he ran through.  Kyle once again showed us how mentally tough he is.  He improved 1 minute and 39 seconds from his 2014 to 2015 best 3 mile time.  Kyle also earned a spot on the News-Gazette Prep Cross Country Leaders List in November.  Kyle earned our team's most consecutive days in a row award.  Kyle and his teammates earned at medal at the State meet for placing 2nd.
