2016 Meet The Team Mahomet-Seymour Boys Cross Country

As a senior, Patrik joins us from the track team. Patrik ran cross country his previous high school years in Japan. He ran 500 miles in the summer to join our team's 500 mile club . Patrik had a great first race at the Charleston Invitational. He ran a 17:44 to place 45th in the 13 team invitational. He helped his team score the lowest overall team average we have ever run. Patrik earned a spot on the News-Gazette Prep Cross Country Leaders list in September. Patrik helped his team win the 20 team Springfield Invitational where he placed 11th. He earned a medal for his high place. His team scored the lowest open score ever at this Invite with 16 points. He earned his first Mahomet high school XC varsity letter after this meet. Patrik ran fast enough to earn a spot on our team's fastest top senior times list for the Springfield Invitational. Patrik ran a lifetime best despite the wet course at the Peoria Notre Dame Invitational. He ran a 17:29 for a 15 second improvement. He earned a spot on our team's fastest senior times list for the PND Invitational. He beat 43 number 5 runners at this 72 team invitational showing that he would be in 43 of the top teams in the State varsity top 5 runners. Patrik placed 22nd in a field of about 1000 runners in the open race. This was the 4th highest finish of any Mahomet runner in the open race in the 17 years we have run on the course. Patrik had a very strong race at the East Peoria Invitational. He ran a season best of 17:04. This earned him the 23rd highest spot on our team's fastest senior times list. We have run this invitational for 12 years. He helped his team win the 21 team invitational. Patrik placed 44th in the meet. Patrik ran a lifetime best of 16:29 at the Metamora Invitational. Patrik earned the 21st spot on our fastest senior times list at the Metamora Invitational. Patrik earned a spot on our team's 16 minute 3 mile club. He earned a spot on the News-Gazette Prep Cross Country Leaders list in October. Patrik ran his best time of the season at the Conference meet. He ran a 16:21 to place 7th in the open race. He earned the 21st spot on our team's fastest senior times list for the Conference meet. Patrik earned a medal at the State meet for being part of the State championship team. He earned a spot on the final News-Gazette Prep Cross Country Leaders List in December. Patrik capped off his season with earning News-Gazette All Area Honorable Mention honors.
