   As a Freshman, Kaelan joins us with both cross country and track experience at the junior high.  Kaelan proved himself to be one of the strongest runners in our junior high history both in track and cross country.  Kaelan was a two time State qualifier in cross country in junior high.  He was an All-State runner as an 8th grade runner in cross country and track.  Kaelan quickly adjusted to the three mile race.  He ran an 18:06 at the Charleston Invitational.  His fast time earned him the 19th spot on our team's fastest times list for the Charleston Invitational.  He earned himself a spot on the News-Gazette Prep Cross Country Leaders list in September.  Kaelan showed his strength at the Springfield Invitational.  He placed 4th in the Freshman race helping his team win the meet with the lowest score we have seen with a score of 16.  Kaelan ran an impressive 11:06 on this very challenging course.  He earned a medal for placing 4th.  He earned the 9th fastest freshmen time on our team's fastest times list for the Springfield Invitational.  He earned enough points after his second race to earn his first Varsity letter.  Kaelan had a huge breakthrough at the PND Invite.  He cut off 1 minute and 17 seconds for a new lifetime personal best time of 16:41.  This earned him a spot on our team's 16 minute 3 mile club.  Kaelan also earned the 10th highest spot on our team's fastest top freshmen times list for the PND Invitational.  He helped his team place 10th in the invitational.  Which is the 2nd highest our team has ever placed in the invitational in 15 years.  Kaelan had the largest improvement of any of our runners on our team.  Kaelan Davis ran the 16th fastest freshmen time ever run by a Mahomet runner at any meet in 46 years.  Kaelan ran a 17:13 at the East Peoria Invitational.  He showed his strength by placing 8th in the fresh/soph race which helped his team win the fresh/soph invitational race.  Kaelan earned a medal for his high finish.  He earned the 19th fastest spot on our team's fastest freshmen top times list for the East Peoria Invitational.  He earned himself a spot on the News-Gazette Prep Cross Country Leaders list in October.  Kaelan had a season best time at the Metamora Invitational.  He ran a 16:38.  His time helped him earn the 9th spot on our team's fastest freshman top times list for the Metamora Invitational.  His time ranks him 15th in the 46 year history of our program for a freshman time run in any race at any meet.  Kaelan ran right at his season best at the Conference meet with a 16:39.  Kaelan helped his team win the open race with a low score of 17 points.  Kaelan showed himself to be one of the strongest freshman in the area.  He earned the 10th spot on our team's top fastest times list for the Conference meet.  Kaelan went on to earn a spot on our team's Sub 30 South Mahomet loop run club.  Kaelan also earned a spot on the News-Gazette Prep Cross Country Leaders List in November.  Kaelan was a great teammate that continued to push his teammates in practice to get them ready for State.  Kaelan and his teammates earned at medal at the State meet for placing 2nd.
   As a sophomore, Kaelan really did a great job in the summer.  He ran 600 miles to join our team's 600 mile club.  Kaelan had a great start to the season.  He ran a lifetime best in his first race with a 16:33.  This was a 1 minute and 33 second improvement from his last year's time at this same race.  He earned a medal by placing 23rd in the 13 team invitational.  He earned the 10th spot on our team's fastest sophomore times list at this invitational.  His time of 16:33 earned him a spot on our team's 16 minute 3 mile club.  Kaelan
earned a spot on the News-Gazette Prep Cross Country Leaders list in September. Kaelan helped his team win the Springfield Invitational open race with the lowest team score ever of 16 points.  Kaelan was the meet runner-up.  He earned a medal for his high finish and a spot on our team's fastest top sophomore times list for this invite.  He earned his second high school XC varsity letter after this meet.  Kaelan ran in the varsity race at the Peoria Notre Dame Invitational.  He helped his team place 2nd in the 72 team invitational.  They beat out 23 State ranked teams and 2 nationally ranked teams.  The course was slow due to the wet ground.  Yet Kaelan still managed to run a 17:07.  His time earned him the 26th spot on our team's fastest sophomore times list for the PND Invite. Kaelan ran a solid race at the East Peoria Invitational.  He packed it up with his teammates to pull one to their fastest time.  Yet he was still able to place 4th overall in the fresh/soph race.  Kaelan earned the 21st spot on our team's fastest sophomore times list at the East Peoria Invitational.  He managed to improved 10 seconds from his 2015 East Peoria Invitational time even though he was holding back.  Kaelan helped his team win the invitational.  Kaelan ran a lifetime best of 16:23 at the Metamora Invitational.  Kaelan earned the 13th spot on our fastest sophomore times list at the Metamora Invitational.  He earned a spot on the News-Gazette Prep Cross Country Leaders list in October.  Kaelan was our fastest runner in the open race at conference.  He placed 4th and ran a lifetime best of 16:07.  He earned the 11th fastest spot on our team's fastest sophomore times list at the Conference meet.  He improved 26 seconds from his previous season best 3 mile time and 32 seconds from his 2015 conference time.   Kaelan helped our team to a Regional Championship.  He placed 31st.  He ran a 16:37 which earned him the 14th fastest time on our team's fastest sophomore list at the Regional meet.  He helped his team run the fastest top 7 runner average we have ever had at this meet.  Kaelan ran at the Sectional meet.  Kaelan gained experience in the State series while giving his teammates much needed rest.  He helped our team run the fastest top 7 runner average at the Sectional meet in our 47 year history.  He earned the 23rd fastest sophomore time at the Sectional meet for a Mahomet runner in 47 years.  He became a state qualifier.  Kaelan broke 5 minutes in practice in the mile to join our old dog club.  He ran a 4:51.  Kaelan also earned a spot on the News-Gazette Prep Cross Country Leaders List in November.  He earned a medal for being part of our State championship team.  Kaelan earned the team spirit award for his team his sophomore year.  He earned our team's scholar/athlete award for his high grades.  Kaelan earned the most improved fresh/soph award his sophomore year.  Kaelan earned a spot on the final News-Gazette Prep Cross Country Leaders List in December.  He earned the honor of the News-Gazette All Area Honorable Mention.
   As a junior, Kaelan ran more than any of our team in summer miles.  He set a great standard.  He earned a spot on our 900 mile club and 1000 York mile club.  He earned the title of captain his junior year.  Kaelan's work paid off as he stepped right up into our top pack.  He helped our team win the Charleston Invitational where he ran a 16:26.  His time was one of the fastest ever by a junior at this meet.  He earned a medal by placing 14th.  Kaelan went on to help our team place 2nd at the Springfield Invitational where he ran in the top 5 of his team.  He ran a 16:45 to earn the 21st fastest spot on our team's fastest junior times list at this invite.  He placed 24th earning him another medal for the year.  He earned enough letter points after his second meet to earn his varsity letter.  Kaelan made the News-Gazette's prep cross country leaders list in September.  He ran fifth for us at the Peoria Notre Dame Invitational where he helped his team place 9th beating out all the AA State ranked teams.  Kaelan ran a 16:46 which earned him the 27th spot on our team's fastest junior times list for the PND Invite.  He improved 21 seconds from his time last year at this invite despite the heat this year.  Kaelan earned our team's scholar/athlete award for his strong grades.  Kaelan ran 4th for our team at the East Peoria Invitational helping our team win over the #2 State ranked team.  Kaelan placed 19th earning a medal.  His time of 16:34 earned him the 22nd spot on our team's fastest times list for juniors at this race.  He also earned our team's most consecutive days award which shows his dedication.  Kaelan Helped our team win the 29 team Metamora Invitational.  He ran a season best time of 16:17 which earned him the 19th spot on our team's fastest junior times list at the Metamora Invitational.  He earned a medal by placing 30th overall.  Kaelan ran a 16:18 at the Conference meet.  This was a season best and the 21st fastest junior time we have had at the conference meet.  Kaelan placed 10th.  This earned him a medal and all-conference honors.  He helped his team win the meet by placing 4th on his team.  He earned a spot on our team's State meet roster again his junior year.
  He earned a spot on the News Gazette Area Cross Country Leaders List in October.  Kaelan ran in the 15s for the first time at the Regional meet.  He ran a 15:58 to earn a spot on our team's 15 minute 3 mile club.  Kaelan earned the 15th fastest junior time we have had at the Regional meet.  He helped our team run the fastest 5 runner average and 7 runner average our team has had in the 48 years of running in the Regional meet.  Kaelan ran his 3 mile season best at the Sectional meet.  His 16:14 earned him the 19th spot on our team's fastest junior times list at the Sectional meet.  He helped our team run the 2nd fastest top 7 runner average our team has had in 48 years of running at the Sectional meet.  He helped us win the meet which made him a two time State qualifier.  He earned a spot on the News Gazette Area Cross Country Leaders List in November.  Kaelan ran a strong race at the State meet.  Despite the muddy course and tight crowds at the State meet he ran within 5 seconds of his season 3 mile best time.  He placed 120th with a time of 16:19.  His time was the 21st fastest junior time we have had at State.  Kaelan helped our team win the State championship.  He earned a medal for being part of our State championship team.  Kaelan won our team spirit award for the second year in a row.  Kaelan earned All-Area honorable mention honors from the News-Gazette.
