   As a Freshman, Ryan joins us with junior high running experience.  Ryan was one of the best runners on his team that placed 7th in State his 8th grade season.  Ryan is an intense runner.  He had a great first high school race as he broke 18:00 at the Charleston Invite with a time of 17:48.  Ryan's time was also fast enough to earn him a spot on our team's fastest top  freshman times list for the Charleston Invitational.  He ranks 18th on the fastest freshman times list for the Charleston Invitational. Ryan made his way onto the News Gazette Prep Cross Country Leaders List in September.  Ryan ran a lifetime best at the Peoria Notre Dame Invitational.  He improved 56 seconds from his best to run a 16:52.  He is one of the few freshman runners in the past 45 years to ever break into the 16s.  He joined our team's 16 minute 3 mile club.  Ryan just missed earning a medal in this invitational which is full of the best teams in the State.  He placed 43rd which is the 9th highest fresh/soph finish our team has had in the 15 years we have run in this invite.  Ryan's amazing freshman time earned him the 8th fastest freshman time we have ever had run in 15 years.  He earned a spot on our team's fastest top freshman list for the Peoria Notre Dame Invitational. Ryan ran another lifetime best at the East Peoria Invitational where he ran a 16:50.  His time was the 7th fastest freshman time we have ever had at this invite in 10 years. Ryan made his way onto the News Gazette Prep Cross Country Leaders List in October.  Ryan broke into the 16s again at the Conference meet showing his consistent strength as a runner.  Ryan placed 4th in the Conference meet open race helping lead his team to win the open race.  They scored a low score of 16.  Ryan's time of 16:57 earned him the 10th fastest freshman time on our team's fastest times list for the Conference meet which we have been running since 1970.  Ryan had such a strong season that he earned a spot on our team's State series team roster.  Ryan broke onto our team's Sub 30 South Mahomet loop run club by breaking 30 minutes.  Ryan made his way onto the News Gazette Prep Cross Country Leaders List in November.
    As a Sophomore, Ryan ran about 450 miles in the summer.  He earned a spot on our team's 400 mile club.  His summer miles paid off as he ran in the top pack for the first practices of the season.  Ryan made a huge jump up his sophomore year in intensity and desire.  He ran his workouts with the top pack and often helped push the pace for his teammates.  Ryan's work paid off as he ran a 28 second lifetime best in his first meet out.  His time at the Charleston Invitational was 1 minute and 24 seconds stronger than just one year earlier.  Ryan ran in the top seven for his team helping them win the invitational.  He earned a medal by placing 11th.  He also earned the 6th spot on our fastest sophomore times list at the Charleston Invitational.  He earned a spot on our team's 16 minute 3 mile club.  Ryan ran a lifetime best by 19 seconds at the Springfield Invitational.  He ran a 16:05 just missing the 15's with a great kick.  Ryan helped his team win the invite.  He helped the team run the lowest top 7 runner average ever run at this invitational.  He ran the 4th fastest sophomore time Mahomet has had run on this course.  He earned a medal by placing 12th overall.  He earned a spot on the News-Gazette Prep Cross Country Leaders list in September.  He broke 5:00 for the first time in the mile earning himself a spot on our team's old dog club.  He earned enough letter points after the Springfield invite to earn his second varsity XC letter.  Ryan earned a spot on the Old Dog sub 5 minute mile club as a sophomore.  He also
earned his way onto our sub 30 South Mahomet loop again as a sophomore.  Ryan had an amazing race at the Peoria Notre Dame Invitational.  He broke into the 15s for the first time with a 15:44.  He helped his team place 4th in the large invitational of 69 teams.  He helped them run the fastest top 7 average ever run at that meet by a Mahomet team.  He earned a spot on our team's 15 minute 3 mile club.  He ran a lifetime best by 21 seconds.  He earned the 3rd fastest spot on our team's fastest top sophomore times list at the PND Invite.  He earned Illinois Elite Status by dyestatil.com for breaking into the 15s.  Ryan ran 5th for his team at the East Peoria Invitational. He ran in the 15's again with a 15:58.  His time earned him Illinois Elite status by dyestat.com.  He improved 52 seconds from his race time just one year ago at this meet.  Ryan placed 8th overall winning a medal.  He helped his team win the invitational with our lowest score ever at this invite.  He helped his team run the fastest top 5 and top 7 average ever at this meet for a Mahomet team.  Ryan ran the 4th fastest Mahomet sophomore time at this invitational.   He earned a spot on the News-Gazette Prep Cross Country Leaders List in October.  Ryan had a great effort at the Metamora Invitational.  He ran a season best time of 15:17.  This is the 2nd fastest time run by an Mahomet sophomore on any course in any meet in the past 46 years.  Ryan earned the 2nd fastest spot for a Mahomet sophomore at this race.  Ryan's time earned him Illinois Elite Status by dyestat.com.  He placed 12th in the invitational.  He helped his team win the meet and earned a medal for his high place.  He helped his team run the fastest top 7 runner average by a Mahomet team at this invite with a 15:07 average.  His time was a 27 second season personal best effort.  Ryan earned his way onto our State series roster.  Ryan ran a great race in the Sectional meet despite the horrible wind and rain.  Ryan placed 18th overall with a time of 16:02.  He helped his team win the Sectional meet advancing them to State.  Ryan ran the 9th fastest Mahomet sophomore time we have ever had at the Sectional meet.  Ryan also earned a spot on the News-Gazette Prep Cross Country Leaders List in November.  Ryan earned out team's scholar athlete award for his great grades the previous year.  Ryan earned our team's most consecutive days in a row award.  Ryan won our fastest sophomore runner award.  Ryan won our most improved runner award.  He improved 1 minute and 33 seconds.  Ryan won our most valuable fresh/soph award.  Ryan helped his team win the 2nd place trophy at State.  He ran a great race despite the pressures of State.  He ran right at his lifetime best 3 mile time.  He earned Il Elite Status for his time.  Ryan and his teammates earned at medal at the State meet for placing 2nd.  Ryan ran the 7th fastest Mahomet sophomore time at State.
   As a junior, joins us after a great track season.  He earned All-State honors in the 3200 meter relay.  He had a great summer where he ran over 700 miles. He joined our team's 700 mile club.  He also ran 1000 York miles to join our team's York 1000 mile club.  He earned the title of captain his junior year.  Ryan helped his team win the 13 team Charleston invitational by running in a controlled back.  He and his teammates ran a 15:52 to place 1st-8th place.  Ryan earned a medal for placing 4th.  He ran the 3rd fastest Mahomet junior time at this invite.  He earned a spot on our team's 15 minute 3 mile club.  He improved 32 seconds from his time last year at this meet.  Ryan
earned a spot on the News-Gazette Prep Cross Country Leaders list in September.  Ryan ran with his teammates in a tight pack to win the Springfield Invitational.  They finished 6 runners in 1 second spread.  Ryan earned a medal for his high place.  He earned his third varsity XC letter after this meet.  He earned a top spot on our team's fastest junior top times list at the Springfield Invitational.  Ryan had a great race at the Peoria Notre Dame Invitational.  Despite the course being slow from being wet, Ryan still ran a lifetime best of 15:22.  He finished 28th overall and helped his team place 2nd in the 72 team invitational.  He helped his team beat 23 State ranked teams and 2 nationally ranked teams. Ryan earned elite status for his time by MileSplit.  He earned the 7th spot on our team's fastest junior times list for the PND Invite.  He ran a lifetime best by 22 seconds.  He earned a medal for his high place.   Ryan ran a solid race at the East Peoria Invitational.  He ran in a pack with his team to place 1st-6th to win the 21 team invitational with a perfect score.  He ran the 7th fastest junior time for a Mahomet runner at this meet in the 12 years we have raced at this invite.  Ryan earned a medal for his 4th place finish.  He improved 23 seconds from his East Peoria time a year ago.  Ryan joined our team's old dog sub 5 minute mile club by breaking 5 minutes in the mile. He joined our sub 5 for 5 club.  Ryan broke into the 14s for the first time at the Metamora Invitational.  He ran a 14:48 to become one of only 11 Mahomet runners to break 15 in 47 years.  He broke onto Metamora's top 25 list.  It is a list they kept for 46 years of the fastest runners from any team in any race on that course.  Ryan earned the 24th spot.  Ryan won a medal by placing 4th.  He helped his team win the 26 team invitational with 20 points.  He earned a spot on our team's 14 minute 3 mile club.  Ryan earned the 1st spot on our fastest junior times list at the Metamora Invitational.  He earned a spot on the News-Gazette Prep Cross Country Leaders list in October.  Ryan broke into the 14s again.  He had a 24 second improvement from his previous best 3 mile time.  He placed 6th which earned him All-conference honors and a medal.  Ryan was one of only 8 runners ever to break into the 14s at the conference meet of any runner from any school since the 1970s.  Ryan earned Elite status by Milesplit.com.  He earned the 2nd fastest spot on our team's fastest junior times list at the Conference meet.  He earned a spot on our team's State roster.  Ryan ran a solid race at the Sectional meet.  He ran a 15:17 to place 7th.  His high place earned him All-Sectional honors and a medal.  He helped his team win the Sectional, earn the fastest top 5 runner average and top 7 runner average we have ever had at the Sectional meet in 47 years.  He earned the 4th fastest junior time of any Mahomet runner in the Sectional meet in those 47 years.  He qualified for State for the 2nd time.  He ran a great race at State.  He ran a 15:00 (14:59 and some change) which earned him the 5th spot on our team's fastest junior times list at State.  He placed 19th earning a medal and All-State status.  He helped his team win State as a team so he earned a second medal for that.  He helped our team tie 2 State records.  They set the most amount of All-State runners with 6.  Only 2 other teams in 71 years have accomplished this.  They also ran the fastest top 5 team average of any non AAA team in 71 years.  Ryan earned our team's most valuable award and Bulldog award along with his State team.  He earned a spot on the News-Gazette Prep Cross Country Leaders list in November.  Ryan earned Elite Status from his performance at State.  He earned our team's scholar/athlete award for his high grades.  He went on to earn a spot on the News Gazette Prep Cross Country Leaders List in December.  He earned First Team All Area Honors.  He earned Elite status by milesplit for his time at the Nike Cross Nationals Midwest Regional race where he ran a 15:49 to place 56th.  He helped his team place 3rd.  Ryan's team won an at-large bid to qualify for the Nike Cross Nationals in Portland.  Ryan placed 116th at the Nike Cross Nationals with a 17:02 on a very muddy course.  He helped his team place 17th at Nationals.  Ryan helped his team earn a national ranking as high as 13th throughout the season.  In the final rankings his team earned a 17th in the nation spot.
   As a senior, Ryan came into the season well prepared.  He joined our 800 mile club and 1000 York mile club.  He earned the title of captain for his second year.  Ryan led the team in many of the early workouts due to his strength.  Ryan led his team at the Charleston Invitational where he ran a 16:01 and placed 7th with a comfortable run.  He helped his team win the invitational.  He ran the 9th fastest time by a Mahomet senior at this meet.  Ryan ran a smooth race at the Springfield Invitational.  He placed 2nd in the meet to earn himself a medal.  He ran a 15:42 which earned him the 4th fastest senior time our school has had at that invite in 14 years.  Ryan looked incredibly strong early in the season.  He earned enough points to earn his 4th high school XC varsity letter.  Ryan earned a spot on the News-Gazette prep cross country leaders list in September.  He ran a strong race at the Peoria Notre Dame Invitational.  On tired legs he still placed 14th overall to earn a medal.  He ran a 15:07 in the extreme heat to earn the 3rd spot on our team's fastest senior times list.  Ryan improved 15 seconds from his last year's race.  Ryan earned our team's most consecutive award for his consistent work ethic.  He earned our team's scholar/athlete award for his great grades.  Ryan ran a smooth time of 15:35 to win the East Peoria Invitational.  It was his first high school cross country win.  Ryan went on to win the 29 team Metamora Invitational both as an individual and as a team.  He ran a 14:35 on this challenging course.  It was the 6th fastest time of any runner from any team at any meet in about 50 years on this course.  He ran the fastest senior and fastest Mahomet time we have ever had at this invite.  He earned a spot on our team's 14 minute 3 mile club and a medal for his 1st place finish.  Ryan won the conference meet as an individual.  He helped his team win the meet as a team.  Ryan ran a 15:26 which earned him the 9th spot on our team's fastest senior times list at the conference meet.  He won a medal and all-conference honors by placing 1st.  He earned a spot on our team's State meet roster for the 4th season in a row.  He earned a spot on the News Gazette Area Cross Country Leaders List in October.  Ryan ran a 14:39 at the Regional meet.  This was the fastest senior time any Mahomet runner has ever run at the Regional meet in our 48 year history.  He also helped his team run the fastest top 5 runner and top 7 runner average at the Regional meet.  He was runner up in the meet earning a medal and All-Regional status.  Ryan ran a 15:06 to place 2nd at the Sectional meet.  He helped his team win the meet and advance to State.  He became a 3 time State qualifier.  He ran the 4th fastest Mahomet senior time at the Sectional meet in 48 years.  He helped his team run the 2nd fastest top 5 runner and 2nd fastest top 7 runner average in our 48 years at the Sectional meet.  He earned a medal and All-Sectional honors for placing 2nd.  He earned a spot on the News Gazette Area Cross Country Leaders List in November.  Ryan had his season best 3 mile time at State despite the muddy course.  His 15:02 was fast enough to earn him our 7th fastest senior time at State.  He placed 9th overall earning him All-State honors for the second year.  He helped his team run the 2nd fastest top 5 runner average.  He helped his team win the State meet for a second year. 
He earned a medal for being part of our State championship team and a second for his All-State run.  Ryan won the fastest senior award.  He won the Flying Dutchman award for placing in Conference, Regional, Sectional, and State.  He won the most valuable award.  He won the Bulldog award.  Ryan earned first team All-Area honors from the News-Gazette.
