2018 News-Gazette Prep Cross Country Leaders List in September, October, & November





      As a junior, Peter joined us from the track team.  Peter showed a great amount of discipline the summer before his junior year.  He ran over 300 miles to earn our team's 300 mile club award.  His teammates really admired him for taking care of them over the summer.  Peter quickly adapted to the miles of a distance runner.  He ran with a pack in his first meet to run a 18:38.  He earned a medal by finishing 38th at the Charleston Invitational.  Peter earned a spot on the News-Gazette Prep Cross Country Leaders List in September.  Peter ran a 19:51 at the Monticello triangular meet.  He placed 30th overall.  Peter ran 5th for the team at the Peoria Notre Dame Invitational.  He had a big personal best and broke into the 17's.  He ran a 17:58 for a 40 second improvement.  His lifetime best earned him the 40th spot on our top junior times list at the PND invitational.  He has really adapted quickly to running the longer distances.  Peter earned his first high school cross country varsity letter after the PND meet. Peter earned a spot on the News-Gazette Prep Cross Country Leaders List in October.  Peter ran a 18:17 on a very muddy course at the Metamora Invitational.  He earned the 32nd spot on our team's fastest junior times at the Metamora Invitational.  He helped his teammate break into the 18s for the first time in this race by pulling him along the course.  Peter ran 7th for the team at the Conference meet.  He helped the team place 2nd.  He earned a spot on our team's State meet roster his junior year.  Peter ran 5th for the team at the Regional meet.  He ran a 18:04 in the 20 plus mph winds.  He helped his team qualify for the Sectional meet.  Peter won our team's fastest new runner award his junior year. Peter earned a spot on the News-Gazette Prep Cross Country Leaders List in November.
