Chase Misenheimer - Sophomore Chase

As
a freshman, Chase joins our team with
junior high cross country team. Chase
opened up his freshman year by running
a 22:54 at the Charleston
Invitational. He finished 105th
in the varsity race. Chase had
some great practices before the
Monticello triangular meet.
During those practices he greatly
earned the respect of his older
teammates by his determination.
Chase ran a 23:57 at the Monticello
triangular meet where he placed
49th. Chase had a 30 second
improvement in the Peoria Notre Dame
Invitational. He ran a 22:24 to
place 500th in the invitational.
He really showed a lot of guts in that
race. Chase had a tremendous
personal improvement at the East
Peoria Invitational. He improved
1 minute and 38 seconds from his
season best with a 20:46. He
helped his team place 4th in the
fresh/soph race. He showed
himself to be a tough high school
racer in this meet. Chase had a
great effort on a horribly muddy
course at the Metamora
Invitational. Despite the course
being slow he almost tied his best
with a 20:53. He earned enough
varsity letter points to earn his
first high school varsity
letter. Chase had one of the
best performances for our team at the
conference meet. It was an
incredibly slow course due to the
hills. Chase handled the hills
better than the majority of our
team. He ran a 21:20. He
earned a spot on our team's State team
roster his freshman year. As a sophomore, Chase came in mentally tough. He opened up the season at the Charleston Invitational with a lifetime 3 mile best of 21:00. This was a 1 minute and 54 second improvement from his Charleston Invitational just one year earlier. Chase showed tremendous improvement. It is rare to see a runner improve almost 2 minutes in just one year. Chase had another big break through at the Peoria Notre Dame Invitational. He cut off another 36 seconds from his lifetime best to run in the 20s for the first time. He ran a 20:24. This was a 2 minute improvement from his last year's time at this same meet. He ran with such great determination and helped pull his teammate along to their personal best as well. Chase has shown himself to be quite a team player. Chase ran a 21:00 at the U-High Invitational. He ran fast enough to earn the 47th spot on our team's fastest sophomore top times list at the U-High Invitational. Chase had a great race at the Metamora Invitational. He broke into the 19s for the first time. He cut off 32 seconds to run a 19:52. He earned the 44th spot on our team's fastest sophomore top times list at the Metamora Invitational. Chase finished his season by running a strong time on our very challenging course at the Conference meet. He ran a 20:26. This was a 54 second improvement from his last year's time at this meet. Chase earned enough points after this meet to earn his varsity letter. |
