As a freshman, Finn joined our team after being one of the strongest on his junior high team. He is a smooth natural runner that we were fortunate to have join our team. Finn showed great talent in his workouts. He opened up his high school career by finishing 5th in the Charleston Invitational open race. He helped his team win the meet with a perfect score. A great way to start his high school running. He ran a 19:16. This was fast enough to earn him a spot on our team's fastest top freshmen times list for the Charleston Invitational. Finn had a giant breakthrough at the Urbana meet. He cut off 1 minute and 19 seconds to break into the 17s for the first time with a 17:57. He ran away from the field in the flight #8 race. He was meet champion in the Urbana Flight #8 race. He has shown that he is not only a strong freshman, but a strong area runner for any grade. Finn ran a 18:39 at the conference meet. Finn and his teammates won the open race at the conference meet with a perfect score. He earned a spot on our team's fastest freshmen top times list at the conference meet. He had one of the toughest times of any Mahomet freshmen in the past 50 years at the conference meet. Finn ran a 18:28 at the Monticello Invitational. He once again helped his team win the open race. Finn earned our team's fastest freshman award. He also earned his first varsity letter his freshman year in cross country. |
