Grant Garrison - Junior Grant
is a first year high school cross country manager
and three year Letterman. He has been part of
the team as a runner and a manager for three
seasons.

As
a freshman, Grant joins our team with
junior high cross country and track
experience. Grant had a solid
summer training under his belt before
breaking his leg in a unlucky twisting
of the ankle. Grant showed great
discipline in the first month or more
of the season by cross training by
himself. He ran 400 miles in the
summer earning our team's 400 Mile
Club award. He didn't run in the
first meet as he wasn't cleared yet to
run due to his broken leg. Grant
opened up his high school career at
the Monticello triangular meet.
He ran well for coming off an injury
and missing weeks of training.
He ran a 20:21 to place 35th overall.
Grant ran 7th for the team in the
varsity race at the Peoria Notre Dame
Invitational. He helped his team
place 35th in the meet. He ran a
20:50 in the meet to place 417th
overall. Grant earned a spot on
the News-Gazette Prep Cross Country
Leaders List in October. As a sophomore, Grant had an injury that sidelined him for the season. He decided to help the team by being a manager. Grant showed his loyalty to his teammates by biking with them in practice, timing them on interval days, and showing up to cheer on his teammates in meets. His loyalty to his teammates was much appreciated. Grant won our team's scholar athlete award as a sophomore. As a junior, Grant had an injury that didn't allow him to race or train as he had hoped. He used his junior season to strengthen his legs back for the future. Grant won our team's scholar athlete award as a junior. |
