   As a junior, Justin joined us after taking two years off from cross country.  He had always been a sensational runner and trained with the team over the years in the off-season.  Justin benefited his team with his fun personality and athletic ability.  He trained hard and quickly adapted back to runner well.   Justin opened up his high school career by winning our open race at the Charleston Invitational.  He ran a 18:35 which is a nice first race.  Justin's second race was another good one.  He placed 4th overall in the SJO Spartan classic open race.  He helped his team win the open race with almost a perfect score.  Justin had a big breakthrough at the Urbana meet.  Justin and his teammate dominated the #5 flight.  Justin was runner-up in this flight.  He cut off 40 seconds for a huge lifetime best.  He broke into the 17s for the first time with a 17:55.  He has shown himself to be quite a distance runner.  Justin led the open race at the Conference meet and ended up as the meet champion.   He ran a 17:24.  This was his lifetime best.  He led his team to win the team title in a perfect score.  Justin was runner-up at the Monticello Invitational.  He ran a 17:30.  He helped his team win the open race.  He  won a varsity letter as a junior.  Justin won the fastest new runner award for our team.
