2021 Meet The Team Mahomet-Seymour Boys Cross Country

   As a freshman, Gage joined us after being All-State in junior high. He ran enough miles to join our 400 mile club his freshman year. Gabe showed he was a tough competitor as he ran a 19:38 in his first meet at the Charleston Invitational. He joined our team's fastest freshmen list at the Charleston invitational. Gabe showed us both in the meet and practices that he is one driven runner. Gabe earned a spot on the News-Gazette Prep Cross Country Leaders List in October.

   As a sophomore, Gabe had a great pre-season of training. He earned our team's 300 mile club award. Gabe opened his sophomore year at the Charleston Invitational. He ran a lifetime best of 18:38 showing he was stronger than ever. He ran 3rd in the open race and helped his team win the open race with a perfect score. Gabe ran fast enough to earn a spot on the fastest top times list for the Charleston Invitational. Gabe had his strongest race of his high school career at the SJO Spartan Classic. He lead the race from the start and came away with the individual win. As meet champion of the open race he helped his team win it. He improved 53 seconds for another lifetime best. His time of 17:45 was quite a feat. Gabe earned our team's most consecutive days in a row award for 3 months of running. Gabe ran as a champion at the Urbana race. From the start he led the flight #5 race, Gabe ended up winning the flight #5 race. Gabe ran a lifetime best of 17:22. This was a 23 second improvement. Gabe ran a 18:20 at the conference meet. Gabe and his teammates won the open race at the conference race with a perfect score. They placed 1st through 7th. Gabe ran in the 17s again when he ran a 17:56 at the Monticello Invitational. Gabe and his teammates won the open race at the Monticello Invitational. Gabe earned our team's most improved fresh/soph award. Gabe improved 2 minutes and 16 seconds from last year. He also earned a varsity letter. Gabe earned a spot on our old dog running club. Gabe won our team's scholar athlete award as a sophomore. Our team elected to have Gabe represent them on our team's State meet roster for the unofficial State meet.
