   As a freshman, Hayden ran the highest miles of anyone on the team entering his freshman year.  He ran enough miles to join our team's 500 mile club.  He ran more miles than any freshman we have ever had in the summer.  Hayden's hard work paid off as he finished 4th on our varsity team in his first meet out.  He ran a 17:39 at the Charleston Invitational.  This time was fast enough to earn him a spot on our team's fastest freshman top times list at the Charleston Invitational.  He earned a medal for his high finish.  Hayden earned a spot on the News-Gazette Prep Cross Country Leaders List in September.  He had a great 2nd race on a very challenging course at the Springfield Invitational.  Hayden ran a 11:25 for a lifetime 2 mile best.  He placed 4th in the freshman race to earn a medal.  He earned a spot on our team's fastest top freshmen times list for the Springfield Invitational.  Hayden really stepped it up again at the Peoria Notre Dame Invitational.  Hayden had the 3rd fastest time for our entire team.  He cut off 26 seconds from his lifetime best to run a 17:13.  Hie time was fast enough to earn him the 27th spot on our team's fastest freshman times list at the Peoria Notre Dame Invitational.  Hayden has continued to show us that he is a varsity runner as a freshman.  Hayden earned a spot on the News-Gazette Prep Cross Country Leaders List in October. Hayden ran a low 17s at the U-High Invitational.  He ran a 17:20 which earned him the 7th spot on our team's fastest freshman top times list at the U-High Invitational.  Hayden helped our team placed 3rd in the 29 team Metamora Invitational.  He broke into the 16s for the first time with a 16:46.  He earned a spot on our team's 16 minute 3 mile club.  He cut off 27 seconds for his lifetime best.  He earned the 13th spot on our team's fastest freshman top times list for the Metamora Invitational.  Hayden ran the 24th fastest time of any Mahomet freshman at any race in the 50 year history of our program. Hayden ran a strong time at the conference meet on our very challenging course.  He ran a 17:30 to place 13th in the meet.  He earned the 29th spot on our team's fastest freshman times list for the conference meet.  He earned a spot on our team's State series roster.  Hayden earned our team's 6 month most consecutive days in a row award.  Hayden ran a lifetime 3 mile best at the Sectional meet on a very wet course.  He ran a 17:07.  This time was fast enough to earn him the 12th spot on our team's fastest freshmen times list for the Sectional meet.  Hayden helped his team qualify for State.  Hayden became one of only 10 freshman to get to run at State in our team's 50 year history. Hayden ran a lifetime best 3 mile time at the State meet by cutting off 30 seconds.  He ran a 16:47 to place 159th in the meet.  He handled the high pressure of State well by placing 5th on the team and getting our team to place 11th.  Hayden earned one of the top freshman times at the State meet.  He also earned a spot on our team's fastest times at the State meet.  He earned our fastest freshman award at our end of the year awards ceremony.

   As a sophomore, Hayden helped lead the team in summer running.  He earned our team's 1000 mile club award.   He earned our team's York 1000 mile club award.  He earned the title of captain his sophomore year.   Hayden came out very strong and won the #5-6 runner flight at the Charleston Invitational.  He ran a 17:06 to earn a spot on our team's fastest sophomore times list at the Charleston Invitational.  He earned a medal at the Charleston Invitational for the second year in a row.  He helped his team win the invitational.  He earned our team's most consecutive days in a row 1 year award.  Hayden earned a spot on our team's old dog award list.  Hayden helped his team win the SJO Spartan classic.  He showed great determination by making a comeback mid-race.  This showed maturity and growth on his part as a runner.  Hayden helped lead our team in many strong practices helping pull our team to being stronger.  Hayden had a lifetime best at the Urbana meet.  He ran a 16:40 and won the #3 flight race.  He earned our team's 16 minute runner award for 2020.  He ran 3rd for the team and helped them win the meet.  Hayden ran in the 16s again at the Conference meet.  He ran a 16:54 to place 9th.  He earned All-Conference honors and helped his team win the Conference championship.  He earned a medal for his high finish.  He earned a spot on our team's fastest sophomore top times list at the Conference meet.  Hayden ran a 16:58 at the Monticello Invitational.  He earned his second cross country varsity letter.  He earned our team's most valuable fresh/soph award.  Hayden earned a spot on our team's State series roster.  Hayden represented our team well at the Regional meet.  He finished 21st in the meet and helped our team win the Regional meet and  advance to the Sectional meet.  He earned a spot on our team's fastest sophomore times list at the Regional meet.  He showed he was one of our strongest sophomores in over 50 years at the Regional meet. Hayden won our team's scholar athlete award as a sophomore.  Hayden ran well for us at the Sectional meet.  He earned a spot on our team's fastest sophomore times list at the Sectional meet.  He helped our team place 4th at the Sectional meet and qualify for the unofficial State meet.  Hayden had his best race of the year at the State meet.  He ran 3rd for the team.  He took control at the start of the race and was in the lead pack.  He earned a spot on our team's fastest times list for sophomores at the State meet.  He helped his team place 2nd in State.

   As a junior,
