Coach Lisa (Klingler) Martin
Lisa was assistant coach for the Mahomet-Seymour High School boys and girls cross country programs during the 2001-02 season.  She also was the Mahomet-Seymour High School girls assistant track coach for the 02, 03, 04, 05 and 06 seaons.  She has been the assistant coach for the Mahomet-Seymour Jr. High boys and girls cross country programs for the 05, 06, 07, and 08 seasons.  She has been teaching health and driver education at the high school since 2001.  She married Ryan Martin in August of 2007.  Ryan is a Mahomet-Seymour high school graduate.  Ryan also is an assistant boys basketball coach for the high school.  Lisa and Ryan currently reside in Mahomet, IL.  Lisa is expecting her first child in March, 2009.  She is also currently pursuing a masters degree at Eastern Illinois University towards earning a counseling degree.  lmartin@ms.k12.il.us Last updated fall of 2008.

Coach Nathan Seal
Nathan has been the assistant coach for the Mahomet-Seymour High School boys cross country programs during the 04, 05, 06, 07, and 08 seasons.  He is one of the State's best coaches and may be most noted for being head girls basketball coach at Mahomet-Seymour High School.  Nathan has been the assistant boys track coach at Mahomet-Seymour High School for the 02, 06, 07 and 08 seasons.  Coach Seal was an assistant girls soccer coach for Mahomet-Seymour High School during the 04, 05 seasons.  He has been teaching in the social studies department since 2000.  Nathan is married to his high school sweetheart, Adreon.  Nathan and Adreon have 2 children.  Adreon teaches at Licoln Trail in Mahomet.  They  reside in Mahomet, IL.  He is also currently pursuing a masters degree at Eastern Illinois University towards earning an administrative degree.  nseal@ms.k12.il.us

Coach Bonnie Moxley
Bonnie was the assistant boys and girls cross country coach for Mahomet-Seymour High School during the 96, 97, 98, 99, and 00 seasons.  Bonnie was the head coach for the boys and girls cross country for the 2001 season.  Bonnie has been the head girls cross country coach from the 2002 season until present.  She has also been head coach for the Mahomet-Seymour High School girls track team during those years.  Bonnie has consistently coached her teams to being the dominate team in the area and state.  Bonnie is a teacher's aid at Lincoln Trail.  Bonnie is married to Jim Moxley.  Bonnie and Jim have three boys.  They reside in Mahomet, IL.  bmoxley@ms.k12.il.us Last updated fall of 2008.

Coach Neal Garrison
Neal has been the head boys cross country coach for Mahomet-Seymour high school during the 2002 seasons until present.  He was also the assistant boys track coach during the 2002 - 2004 seasons.  Neal is a guidance counselor at Mahomet-Seymour High School.  He is married to Amber Garrison.  Neal and Amber have one boy named Grant.  Grant was born in December of 2003. Coach John King
John was head cross country coach from the 1972 season through the 2000 season.  1981 was the first year the girls had a seperate team from the boys.  John was head coach for both the girls and boys teams at this point.  John also was jr high cross country coach and head high school boys track coach during this time.  He currently resides in Mahomet, IL.  Last updated spring of 2007.

Coach Gary Garrison
Gary has been a volunteer boys cross country coach for Mahomet-Seymour High School during the 2004-current seasons.  He has also been an assistant track coach for the Mahomet-Seymour High School during the 2004 - current seasons.  Coach Gary Garrison has over 40 years of coaching track and field experience.  He spent 32 years as head boys track coach at SJO.  After years of struggling to develop quality teams, things begin to fall in place in the 80's.  His teams became a dominate force in the 80's, 90's and early 2000's.  His teams were often state contenders in this time period.  His teams won State Championships in 1993 and 2000.  From 1986 to 2003, 28 of his boys competed at the college level.  In that same time period, he coached 41 individual boy All-Staters.  Thirteen of these All-Staters were hurdlers.  No other school in Illinois produced more hurdling All-Staters.  Coach Garrison has coached 3 national age group champions in the summer meets.  His background includes over 25 years of coaching youth in summer track programs.  He coached hurdling camps at the U of I and EIU for 9 years in the 90's and early 2000's. He coached a hurdling camp at Carlinville.  As an assistant at Mahomet-Seymour, his main contributions have been in the areas of high jump, hurdles, speed relays, and long sprinters.  Coach G joins an outstanding track staff that is attempting to move Mahomet-Seymour from a position of area dominance to a state contending level in class AA.  Since he retired at SJO he has been volunteering his time at his church, traveling, taking his Plymouth Road Runners to car shows, and coaching for Mahomet-Seymour High School.  He is married to Pam Garrison.  They reside in St. Joseph, IL.  Last updated fall of 2008.

Coach Eric Potter
Eric has been a volunteer assistant boys cross country coach for the 2005 -current seasons.  He has been in the math/science department for Mahomet-Seymour high school.  He has been the Scholastic Bowl, Math Team, and WYSE coach since 2001.  He has been a volunteer assistant coach for St. John Jr High Track team during the 2005-2008 seasons.  He teaches for Parkland College in the summers.  Eric is married to his high school sweetheart, Anne.  Eric and Anne have 5 children.  Eric resides in Champaign, IL. epotter@ms.k12.il.us Last updated fall of 2008.

Coach Jim Risley
Jim was an assistant coach for the cross country team.  He is noted for being one of the greatest motivators and coaches.  He has been a Volleyball, Wrestling, Girls Head Track, Boys Assistant track coach, and voluntere assistant boys Basketball Coach for Mahomet-Seymour High School.  Jim is currently teaching social studies at Mahomet-Seymour Jr. High and is an assistant boys track coach for Mahomet-Seymour High School.  He married his high school sweetheart.  They have two boys.  Grant is in college and Garett is in high school. Coach Travis Titsworth
Travis was a volunteer assistant boys cross country coach for the 05 season while he student taught at Mahomet-Seymour high school in science.  Since leaving Mahomet, Travis has taught at Cumberland High School in the science department.  He teaches chemistry and physics.  Travis was honorably discharged from the United States Air Force after 6 years of service.  He coached the Cumberland junior high cross country team to a 5th place finish at state in the 2006 season.  He coached junior high basketball at Cumberland in the 2006 school year and will be coaching as the high school girls vasity basketball coach for the 2007 season.  He has been married for 3 years to Lynna who is a critical care nurse at Carle hospital.  Travis is in his 2nd year of 3 in obtaining his Masters degree in natural science from Eastern Illinois University.  Travis and Lynna currently reside in Tuscola.  Last updated fall of 2007.

Jared Kingry
Class of 2008
Jared ran two years of high school cross country.  He ran the 04 & 07 seasons.  He was known for being a vocal leader of the team and a great encourager of his teammates.  He ran a personal best in almost every meet.  He ran in our top 7 varsity runners at the East Peoria Invitational.  He was on the News-Gazette Area Honor roll his senior year.  He is currently attending Southern Illinois University where he is pursuing a degree in electrical engineering.   kingry123@hotmail.com  Last updated fall of 2008.

Thomas Thoren
Class of 2008
Thomas ran four years of high school cross country for Mahomet-Seymour High School.  He ran the 04, 05, 06, & 07 seasons.  He lettered both as a junior and senior.  He is most noted for starting the standard for running the most consecutive days in a row.  He ran at least 1 mile a day for 91days as a junior.  He later ran 280 days in a row as a junior and senior.  Thomas was captain his senior year.  He ran for over 400 miles the summer before his senior year.  
He was on the News-Gazette Area Honor roll his senior year.  Thomas won our team's team spirit award his senior year.  He also improved 6 minutes and 27 seconds from his first race to his last race which is one of the biggest improvements over a career that we have record of.  He is currently attending the University of Illinois purusing a degree in Civil Engineering.  thoren@illinois.edu  Last updated fall of 2008.  

Blake Colclasure
Class of 2007
Blake ran two years of high school cross country for Mahomet-Seymour High School.  He ran the 05 and 06 seasons.  He lettered both years. Blake is going to Parkland College next year after winning an Ag scholarship.  He plans to transfer to the University of Illinois to pursue a degree in geology.  Last updated spring 2007.

Phil Dempsey
Class of 2007
Phil ran two years of high school cross country for Mahomet-Seymour High School.  He ran the 05 and 06 seasons.  He was most noted for winning the Clydesdale award during the 05 and 06 seasons.  However, he lost enough weight his senior year that he was actually below weight in the 06 seasons.  Last updated spring of 2007.

Alex Gorsuch
Class of 2007
Alex ran two years of high school cross country for Mahomet-Seymour High School.  He ran the 03 and 04 seasons.  He later was a manager for the 05 season.  Alex plans to pursue a career in medicine.  Last updated spring of 2007.

Brandon Keeney
Class of 2007
Brandon ran three years of high school cross country for Mahomet-Seymour High School.  He ran the 04, 05, and 06 seasons.  He was captain as a senior.  Brandon plans to pursue an engineering degree at Bradley University next school year.  Last updated spring of 2007.

Joe Logan
Class of 2007
Joe ran two years of high school cross country for Mahomet-Seymour High School.  After being a two time state qualifier in both jr. high cross country and track he joined our team with experience.  He won the team spirit award for both his junior and senior year.  He attends Parkland College.  He works both at Simpsons Auto in Champaign and as a volunteer firefighter for the Cornblet fire department in Mahomet.  He is pursuing a career as an electrician through the union.  Joe currently lives in Mahomet.  joelogan19@yahoo.com Last updated fall of 2008.

Devin Lyons
Class of 2007
Devin ran four years of high school cross country for Mahomet-Seymour High School.  He ran the 03, 04, 05, and 06 seasons.  He drastically improved over the years and went from being one of the last in most meets as a freshman to being in the top 10 at the Regional meet as a senior.  He was captain as a senior.  Devin plans to continue his running career at Illinois State University.  He plans on majoring in physics/engineering.  Last updated spring of 2007.

Michael Mansfield
Class of 2007
Michael ran two years of high school cross country for Mahomet-Seymour High School.  He ran the 05 and 06 seasons.  He earned the most improved award as a senior.  He is also noted for losing about 45 lbs as a result.  Michael ran 300 miles in the summer before his senior year.  He is going to Oklahoma State next year to pursue a degree in fire protection and safety technology.  Last updated spring of 2007.

Alex Patton

Alex ran one year of high school cross country for Mahomet-Seymour High School.  He ran the 04 season.  He is going to Parkland Community College where he plans to pursue a degree in Education so he can become a high school science teacher.   Last updated spring of 2007.

Troy Pittman
Class of 2007
Troy ran four years of high school cross country for Mahomet-Seymour High School.  He ran the 03, 04, 05, 06 seasons.  He was part of the sectional qualifying teams all four years while in high school.  He was captain of the team his senior year.  He is going to Western Illinois University where he plans to continue his running career by running cross country and track.  Last updated spring of 2007.

Justin Sebens
Class of 2007
Justin ran four years of high school cross country for Mahomet-Seymour High School.  He ran the 03, 04, 05 and 06 seasons.  He was part of the sectional qualifying teams all four years while in high school.  He was captain of the team his sophomore, junior and senior years.  He was the Regional champ as a senior.  Justin was a state qualifier as a senior.  He is going to Carthage College in Wisconsin where he plans to earn a degree in Physics.  Justin has continued his running career by running cross country and track at Cathage College.  Last updated fall of 2008.

Robert Beach
Class of 2004
Robert ran four years of high school cross country for Mahomet-Seymour High School.  Robert was a four year letterman in cross country.  He was part of the sectional qualifying team his senior year.  Robert volunteered his time as a coach for the cross country team during the 2004-05 season.  Robert went to Parkland Community College for two years and transfered to Illinois State University.  Robert graduated with a degree in elementary education.  He did part of his student teaching in England in the spring of 2008.  Upon returning to the States, Robert started graduate school at Bradley University where he is pursuing a Masters degree in counseling.  He also is working as a graduate assistant to help improve professor teaching practices.  He currently lives in Peoria and his parents still live in Mahomet.  Last updated spring of 2009.

C.J. Fall

Joe Horton
Class of 2004
Joe ran one year of high school cross country for Mahomet-Seymour High School.  Joe joined us his senior year where he quickly learned to run well.  Joe drastically improved throughout the season as he gained more experience.  He went on to run track his senior year.  Joe is currently going to Parkland Community College.  Last updated fall of 2004.

Wade Rippy
Class of 2004
Wade ran two years of high school cross country for Mahomet-Seymour High School.  Wade used cross country to get in better shape for track which was his favorite sport.  Wade went on to break 4 school records in track including the 100, 200, 110 hurdles, and 300 hurdles.  Wade earned a scholarship in track at Illinois State University where he ran 2 years as a sprinter and hurdler.  Last updated fall of 2004.

Alex Smith
Class of 2004
Alex ran four years of high school cross country for Mahomet-Seymour High School.  Alex was a four year letterman in cross country.  He was captain for his junior and senior year.  He won the fastest runner award his junior year.  He was part of the sectional qualifying team his senior year.  Alex went to Parkland Community College for his first two years.  He is now attending the University of Illinois where he is pursuing a degree in psychology.  Last updated spring of 2007.

Brandon Smith
Class of 2004
Brandon joined the team his senior year.  He was extremely talented and intense.  He managed to work right into the top five of the team.  Brandon won our team's fastest new runner award his senior year.  He was part of the sectional qualifying team his senior year.  Brandon was also a two time state qualifier in track in the 1600 meter relay.  Brandon is currently going to Parkland Community College.  Brandon volunteered his time to coach our team in cross country during the 2004-05 season.  Last updated fall of 2004.

Taylor Sebestik
Class of 2004
Taylor ran four years of high school cross country for Mahomet-Seymour High School.  Taylor was a four year letterman in cross country.  He was captain for his sophomore, junior and senior year.  He was MVP both his junior and senior year.  He also won the bulldog award his senior year.  Taylor broke into the 15's his senior year.  He was part of the sectional qualifying team his senior year.  He went on to qualify for state his senior year in track in the 800 meters.  Taylor is continuing his running career at the college level.  Taylor has run 3 years at ISU. During his junior year he often broke into the top 7 of his college team in cross country.  Taylor also ran a 4:02 in the 1500.  He is currently pursuing a degree in education.  Last updated spring of 2007.

Wes Logan
Class of 2003
Wes ran four years of high school cross country for Mahomet-Seymour High School.  He was captain one year and a constant leader of the team.  Wes was a four year letterman in cross country.  Wes ran under 3 head coaches including John King, Bonnie Moxley and Neal Garrison.  Wes won the Bulldog award in 2003 for his constant commitment to the sport of cross country and the team.  Wes was nicknamed "Old Dog" as he was the oldest runner on his team for his last three years.  Wes broke into the 16 minute range in cross country and also broke 5 minutes in the mile in track his senior year.  Wes graduated from Illinois State University with his bachelors degree in 2007.  Wes is currently going to ISU to pursue a MBA.  Wes will be rooming with former alumni Robert Beach.  Last updated spring of 2007.

Brent Johnson
Class of 2003
Brent came out for cross country for the first time his senior year.  He hoped to use the sport of cross country in order to get in shape for wrestling.  Brent stepped right in as a first year runner into the top five on the team.  Brent was a letterman and won the cross country team's best first year runner award in 2003.  He later went on to qualify for state in wrestling, both as an individual and as part of the team.  Brent went on to college at SIUC.  He had an unfortunate accident while and SIUC and is now deceased.  He will be greatly missed by his team.  His family has continued to be very supportive of the community and cross country team.

Kyle Emkes
Class of 2001
Ran four years of cross country druing the 97, 98, 99 and 2000 seasons.  He was captain of the team during his junior and senior years.  Kyle ran in the top 10 at the Regional meet in 2000. He placed higher than any runner from Mahomet-Seymour in the state meet during the ten years MS was double A in a 2 class system.  Kyle placed 53rd.  He went to the University of Illinois and was pursuing a degree in sports management and pre-law.  Kyle ran for the University of Illinois for 3 years. He is currently at the University of Illinois in his 3rd year of law school. Last updated spring of 2007.

Jeremee Eckhoff
Class of 2000
Jeremee ran 2 years of cross country during the 97 and 98 seasons.  He currently resides in Urbana, IL and works for Hawthorne Suites.  Last updated fall of 2004.

Justin Strom
Class of 2000
Justin ran 2 years of cross country during the 98 and 99 seasons.  Justin graduated in May 2005 from Western Illinois University.  He is a 1st Lt. in the US Army.  He will be leaving for Iraq in March of 2008.  Justin was married in Maryland in September 2006.   He became a new father on October 18, 2007. His wife, Stephanie, and son, Alex, will be staying in Florida with her parents while he is deployed overseas.  Last updated fall of 2007.

Phil Alexander
Class of 1997
Phil ran 4 years of cross country during the 93, 94, 95 and 1996 seasons.  He was a state qualifier during the 94, 95 and 1996 seasons.  He was a state placer in 95 and 1996 seasons where he placed 22nd and 23rd. Grant Iles
Class of 1997
Grant ran 4 years of cross country during the 93, 94, 95 and 1996 seasons.  Grant was all-conference in 1994.  He was in the top 10 in the Regional meet in 1994.  He was a two time state qualifier in the 94 and 96 seasons.  Grant went on to run 1 year of track at Illinois State University.  He is currently a teacher and coach at Moline, IL.  Last updated fall of 2004.

Neil Banwart
Class of 1996
Neil ran 3 years of cross country during the 93, 94 and 1995 seasons.  Neil was all-conference in 1995.  Neil ran in the 15's.  He ran in the top 10 at the Regional meet in 1995.  He was a state qualifier in 1994 and 1995.  He helped his team to place 10th in 1994 and 4th in 1995.  Neil was a captain for his team his senior year.  He is working as a manager, financial analysis at Gardner-Denver.  He currently lives in Quincy, Illinois with his wife Leann.  Both Neil and his wife are avid runners.  Neil ran the Milwaukee Marathon in the fall of 2006.  nbanwart@yahoo.com  Last updated fall of 2008.


Dan Nielsen
Class of 1991
Dan  ran four years of cross country  during the 1987, 88, 89 and 90 seasons.  He  was a four year state qualifier and a two time all-state cross country athlete.  He was all conference in 87, 88,  89  and 90.  Dan also was in the top 10 in the Regional in 87, 88, 89 and 90.  Dan was captain of his team.  He went on to run 4 year of Cross Country and Track at Illinois State University.  He currently lives in Salem, IL and is an optometrist at the Salem Eye Clinic.  Last updated fall of 2007.

Brian Easter
Class of 1990
Brian ran 3 years of cross country during the 87, 88 and 1989 seasons.  Brian ran in the top 10 at the Regional meet at 87 and 1988 seasons.  Brain was a three time state qualifier in the 87, 88 and 1989 seasons.  He currently is an administrator at Centennial High School in Champaign, IL.  His wife, Sara, and Brian have 2 children, Brenne ad TJ.  Last updated fall of 2004.

Jay Busey
Class of 1989
Jay ran 3 years of cross country.  He was captain of his team for both his junior and senior year.  He later went on to be an assistant coach for the team during the 1993 season.
Jay was a state qualifier both his junior and senior year.  He ran a personal best of 15:26 in sectionals during his junior year.  He ran college for 2 years at DePauw University.  His wife Melanie were expected their first child in December 2004.  He currently is a manager for Hewitt Associates and lives in Racine Wisconsin.  Last updated fall of 2004.

John Seal
Class of 1985
John ran 4 years of cross country during the 81, 82, 83 and 1984 seasons.  He currently resides in Crescent Springs, KY where he is marketing research vice president of advanced analytics at Burke, Inc.  Married Mahomet-Seymour graduate Susan Bostron.  John and Susan have 2 children, Adam and Erica.  Last updated fall of 2004.

Bill James
Class of 1975
Bill ran 4 years of cross country during the 71, 72, 73 and 1974 seasons.  He was captain his junior and senior year.  He was most improved his freshman year.  He was in the top 10 at the Regional meet his senior year.  He went on to run four years at Eastern Illinois University.  He lives in Gridley, IL and is a Supt at El Paso-Gridley CUSD#11.  He coached cross country and track from 1979-1988.  His wife, Melody, have four daughters (Justine, Janelle, Jacy and Julie) and one dog Josie.  Last updated spring of 2007.

Tom Lindsey
Class of 1972
Tom ran 3 years of cross country during the 69, 70 and 1971 seasons.  He currently resides in Winona, MN.  Last updated fall of 2004.
