Andy Chaney

Andy was a 2019 Mahomet-Seymour High School Boys Cross Country Hall of Fame Inductee.

Andy ran during the (1969), 1970, 1971, and 1972 seasons.

Andy was captain of his team during his junior and senior years.

Andy is credited with starting a petition to push for the creation of the Mahomet-Seymour high school cross country team.

Andy's father had a job that required having Andy move back and forth throughout his school.  Andy ran cross country his freshman year at Gardner high school.  Andy loved the sport and wanted it at Mahomet-Seymour high school.  He created a petition and took it to the school board.  Andy was able to get cross country approved for his sophomore year.  Without Andy pushing for cross country it would not have been created in 1970.

Andy major help in creating our cross country program has impacted hundreds of lives over a half a century.

Andy joined the military right after high school.
