Grant
was a 2015 Mahomet-Seymour High School Boys Cross Country Hall of Fame
Inductee. Grant ran during the 1993, 1994, 1995, and 1996 seasons. Grant was captain his senior year. He was the Bulldog award winner as a junior. Grant was the 1995 Mahomet Seymour/Olympia/Prairie Central triangular meet champion. He was the 1995 Mahomet Seymour/Blue Ridge/PBL/Prairie Central quadrangular meet champion. Grant was All-Conference his sophomore year. He placed 7th in 1994. Grant was in the top 10 of the Regional meet his sophomore year. He placed 9th in 1994. Grant was a State qualifier his sophomore and senior years (1994 & 1995). He placed 49th as a sophomore. He placed 53rd as a senior. He helped his team to qualify for State for the first time in 5 years. He lead his team to a 10th place finish in 1994. He went on to help his team place 4th in 1996. This was the highest team finish ever for our program as a single A team. Grant ran a 16:51 his freshman year. He ran a 15:28 his sophomore year at the Chrisman Classic. He ran a 16:14 his junior year. Grant ran a 16:04 his senior year. Grant was also a State placer in track twice in the 3200 meter relay in 1996 and 1997. Grant went on to run track for Illinois State University. He went on to use his talents to help other runners. He was a head track coach at Blue Ridge High School and Clinton High School. He was head Cross Country Coach at Champaign Central High School. Grant was an assistant track coach at Champaign Central High School. He went on to be a cross country and track coach at Moline High School. |
