Jake Mahaffey
  
Jake was a 2016 Mahomet-Seymour High School Boys Cross Country Hall of Fame Inductee.

Jake ran during the 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 seasons.  He was a four year letterman.

Jake was captain of his team his junior and senior  years.

Jake was the winner of our team's most valuable fresh/soph runner as a freshman and sophomore.
He was the most valuable runner as a junior and senior.
He was the Bulldog award winner his junior and senior years.

Jake was the 2008 Urbana meet champion, the 2008 Pontiac quad meet champion,  and the 2008 Prairie Central triangular meet champion.

Jake was named Athlete of the week three times as a senior by the local newspapers.  Twice for the Mahomet Citizen and once for the News Gazette.

Jake was All-Conference his junior and senior years.  He placed 7th as a junior and 3rd as a senior.

Jake was on the All-Regional (top 5) team his junior and senior years.  He placed 2nd both years..

Jake was on the All-Sectional (top 10) team his senior year.  He placed 6th.


Jake was a State placer as a senior.  He placed 25th.

Jake's fastest time was 15:22 as a senior.

Jake went on to lead his college team at Carthage College.  He ran a 25:27 in XC.  In track he ran a 31:04 in the 10K, a 14:58 in the 5K, a 9:56 in the 3K Steeplechase, a 8:41 in the 3K, a 4:05 in the 1500, a 200.12 in the 800. 
His personal best in the half marathon is 1:11:51 and his personal best in the marathon is 2:40:09.
