Mathias was the 2015 East Peoria Invitational Fresh/Soph Race Champion. He was the 2016 East Peoria Invitational Fresh/Soph Race Champion. He was the 2017 Regional Champion and the 2017 Sectional Champion. He was the 2018 Charleston Invitational Champion, the 2018 Monticello triangular meet champion, the 2018 East Peoria Invitational Champion, the 2018 Metamora Invitational Champion, the 2018 Apollo Conference Champion, the 2018 Regional Champion, the 2018 Sectional Champion, and the 2018 State Champion. Mathias was All-Conference his sophomore, junior, and senior years. He placed 7th as a sophomore. He placed 2nd as a junior. He placed 1st as a senior. Mathias was All-Regional his junior and senior years. He placed 1st as a junior. He placed 1st as a senior. Mathias was All-Sectional as a sophomore, junior, and senior years.
