Hall of Fame Inductee.
Tom coached the Mahomet-Seymour junior high school cross country team during the 1986-2011 seasons. Tom's work directly contributed to the success of the high school program for decades. He laid the foundation for the cross country program. He taught a love for running and also gave the runners a tremendous amount of success. Tom coached his boys teams to qualify for State 14 years. 1995 - 15th 1997 - 6th 1998 - 7th 1999 -15th 2000 - 15th 2001 - 14th 2002 - 5th 2003 - 9th 2005 - 16th 2006 - 15th 2007 - 7th 2008 - 21st 2009 - 11th 2011 - 4th Tom coached 15 All-State runners. Tom coached Jordan Johnson to a State Championship in 1997. Tom can be quoted as saying "It was a 26 year long fun-run for me and long-time assistant coaches Marcia Carlier and Lisa Martin. What we did best was instill confidence in runners new to the sport of Cross-Country." |
