Forth Annual Teacher Fun Run Race
Mahomet-Seymour has very supportive teachers.  Many of our teachers go out of their way to help our student/athletes on a daily basis.  Our team appreciates the hard work they do and invites them to join us in a fun run.  Our teachers do a great job of running on little training.  Teachers are given the option of either running 1 mile or 3 miles.  Our boys team is divided into equal groups to race against the teachers.
The 2007 Teacher Fun Run had 13 teachers able to race.
2007 Teacher Team Members

Anne Ahrens - MS High School Math Teacher.  2005 and 2006 Teacher fun run's fastest Anne Haab award winner.  2nd generation 5K runner.  Trained at least once for the 2007 teacher fun run.  Very fast.

Jamie Colbert-MS High School English Teacher, Alternative Education Teacher, and Student Council Advisor.  Illinois State University graduate and Monticello High School Alum.  Participated in cross country and track (3200, long jump, high jump).  Previously completed a 10K and several 5K races.  Currently a mother of one 17 month old boy.  Recently the only running she has done is chasing after her kid (or after a Snickers bar).

Carrie East - MS High School English Teacher.  A 400 runner in high school.  Assistant track coach at Unity Jr. High 1995-1997.  Trying to get back into running shape after a (gasp) 9 year break.

Gary Garrison - Former counselor, social studies teacher, football coach, basketball coach, and track coach for SJO.  Coached 2 State Championship track teams.  Former Illinois State University Track Runner.  Currenly coaches track for Mahomet-Seymour High School.

Neal Garrison - MS High School Guidance Counselor, Cross Country Coach, Former Track, Softball, and Volleyball Coach.

Andrew Lukanich - Husand and great supporter of Kristine Luchanich.

Kristine Lukanich - MS High School Mathematics Teacher.  Plans to walk the 1 mile course if she hasn't had her child by then.

Gina Morphew - MS High School Mathematics Teacher.  3rd year teacher fun run competitor.  2006 Teacher Fun Run Fastest female in the math department award winner.

Eric Potter - MS High School Science and Math Teacher, cross country coach, scholastic bowl coach, WYSE team coach , and Math team coach.  He ran in the Chicago Marathon in October 2006.  He most recently completed a triathalon this summer and competed in the Mahomet half marathon in August 2007 (taking 1st place for 29 year old males from Champaign that teach Physics and Math at Mahomet-Seymour High School), and the anticipated winner of the 2007 teacher fun run.

Dan Ryan - MS High School Math Teacher.  Former MS basketball coach.  In the 2005 teacher fun run, he started 7 minutes after everyone else started in an attempt to make it a more even race at the finish.  After being sidelined in 2006 teacher fun run, he expects big things for the 2007 teacher fun run.

Brian Schwarzentraub - MS High School Business Teacher/Baseball Coach.  He was a former Illinois Weslyan University Football and Baseball Player.  He has run a half marathon in recent years.

Nathan Seal - MS High School Social Studies Teacher and coach of 3 sports (cross country, girls basketball, and boys track).  He always looks a little angry.  He was a former train engineer.

Jeff Starwalt - MS Junior High School Principal.  He took home a 5th place medal in the 1976 St. Joseph Junior High Cross Country Invitational because the runner in front of him took a wrong turn.  He completed the Chicago Marathon in 1999 and 2001.
