Kyle Appelquist, Chris Carlton, Ethan Russell and Dhairav Vakil ran over 300 miles over the summer. That is an average of 4.2 miles per day. Elijah Johnson, Forrest Smoes and Ryne Swenson ran over 400 miles. That is an average of 5.6 miles per day. John Butcher, Dan Lewis, Lucas Prather, and Jonathan Schaap ran over 500 miles. Hall of Fame
A tribute to the
cornerstones of our program.
I
am in search of old meet records and awards programs. If you have
any that you would be willing to let me copy, please call or email me.
Justin
Sebens (2007) is running his forth year of XC and track for Carthage College
this season. He ran 1st or 2nd for his team throughout the 2009 season.
Jacob Mahaffey (2009) is running for his seond year of XC and track for Carthage College this season. He ran 1st and 2nd for his team throughout the 2009 and 2010 seasons. Jacob earned XC Athlete of the Week honors for his conference during the 2010 season. Henry Wolf (2010) is running for the Illinois Cross Country and Track Club team this year. Coach Gary Garrison (father of Neal
Garrison) was inducted into the Illinois Track and Field and Cross
Country Coaches Hall of Fame this January. After 40 years of coaching
at 3 schools, Gary will be honored for his significant accomplishments as
a coach and his contribution to the sport. Each year the ITCCCA inducts
about 7 coaches a year to be in the hall of fame. The list is small
but includes many great college and high school coaches. Coach Gary
Garrison currently is a volunteer XC coach for Mahomet-Seymour, an assistant
Track coach for Mahomet-Seymour, and Illini Heat Track coach in the summer.
He is often asked to speak at track clinics throughout the State to educate
other coaches. Hall of Fame
